Audix A231 is a condenser microphone, which is an extension of the technological idea present in previous versions – A131 and A133. The capsule of this model measures 33 mm and uses 25% more membrane surface than similar competitive products. Effect? Wide and natural frequency response. It has a low-noise preamplifier system using the proprietary Driven Shield technology.
Impact and shock resistance
The grill design protects against unwanted effects of impacts while recording. It is made of double-woven steel mesh and equipped with an extremely thin acoustic foam filter. The microphone also has anti-shock protection , which isolates the capsule from any vibrations and mechanical interference.
Not only vocals
With the Audix A231 you can record not only speech or vocals; the maximum SPL of this model is 140 dB, which allows for efficient recording of drums or guitar amplifiers. A self-noise level of 12 dBA and a dynamic range of 128 dB mean that you can also use the new Audix to record orchestra performances, as well as playing string instruments or double bass.
